  I used to love the Dog House, above all their bratwurst, which you can't get anywhere else nearby. Now it's been replaced by the Dawg House under new ownership. The aw in the new name apparently stands for awful. Prices have gone up noticeably and the brat has disappeared from the menu along with kielbasa and corn dogs and been replaced by a variety of concoctions such as the Italian dog I ordered today, garnished with roasted onions, peppers, and potatoes.
  
  I was doubtful about the potatoes, but thought I could remove them and enjoy the rest, but half the content of the sandwich was thick slices of fried potato which were undercooked and dull as a boiled potato without anything on it. The half of the filling left consisted of a minimal serving of onions and peppers and a hot dog not much thicker than my middle finger. The roll in which these meager fillings were buried was big but also pretty tasteless.
  
  The mac and cheese we ordered for our granddaughter, which she always loved when the Dawg House was the Dog House, was also tasteless, amazingly so. It was as if they'd substituted some totally neutral substance for cheese. My granddaughter wouldn't eat it and neither would I nor my wife nor her cousin and the cousin's young daughter.
  
  The cousin's daughter also ordered a hamburger which she wouldn't eat as it was scorched, and the chili my wife ordered, which was described as mild was too hot for her.
  
  It's hard to imagine what those new owners think they're doing. Bye bye Dawg House.
